Supporters Clubs Tournament At The Emirates Stadium

Arsenal have forwarded the following details for the upcoming tournament on Sunday, May 18th.

‘Your team (7 players and 1 manager) should arrive as a team not individually at gate S on podium level at 5pm Sharp! Please arrive with your kit on, ready to play.

All spectators must enter the stadium West Club level. The bar will be open from 5.30 till 9.30pm. Please be aware that parking restrictions are in force around the stadium, and we would advise you to use public transport. Coach parking will be available for coaches and mini buses ONLY. To book a coach place please phone Daniel Quy on (contact Dave Faber for number).

Please make sure your teams has all the correct equipment for the tournament, shin pads, kit, trainers, Astroturf or moulded boots (football boots / blades are not permitted). It will also be advisable to bring along water for your team. First Aiders will be in attendance.

Our tournament is run on a friendly basis, and brief rules follow on later in this letter. There are trophies to be won and we do expect there to be competitiveness, but we do expect everyone to enjoy the tournament and behave in a friendly manner.’

Rules
There will be 4 groups playing within a league format, with the winner of each group going through to a Semi Final. If the group ends with teams on the same points, goal difference will be the first deciding factor. If this is the same then goals scored will come into account. In the event of the previous two rules still being the same then results against each other will decide.

5 a side with roll on roll off substitutes at the discretion of the referee.

All group games will be 7 minutes in duration.

Goalkeepers
Cannot pick up back passes.
From a goal kick award, goalkeepers MUST roll the ball back into play using an under arm motion.
Indirect free-kicks will be given if the above rules are breached.

Throw-ins / Corners
If the ball goes out of play at the side play must be started again by rolling the ball back with an underarm motion.
Corners can be taken in the normal manner.

Other rules
No off-side rules apply
Overhead height is allowed
No jewellery is to be worn.

Quarter Final

The duration of the quarter final will be 10 minutes no half time. If the game is level at full time – 5 penalty kicks per side will be taken. If there is still no clear winner then a sudden death penalty shootout will take place.

Semi Finals
The duration of the semi finals will be 10 minutes - no half time. If the game is level at full time – 5 penalty kicks per side will be taken. If there is still no clear winner then a sudden death penalty shootout will take place.

Final
The duration of the final will be 10 minutes – no half time. If the game is level at full time - 5 penalty kicks per side will be taken. If there is still no clear winner then a sudden death penalty shootout will take place.

Next Meeting Date and AGM Date

April 10th, 2008

The next meeting will be our AGM.

Our Annual General Meeting has been arranged for Friday May 23rd starting at 7.30pm at the Premier Club, in the Stratton area of Swindon.

This will include free light refreshments.

Anyone wishing to add anything to the AGM agenda or propose a rule change, this must be in writing to the Secretary, Dave Faber, 14 days before the meeting date. Dave can be contacted at nwgooner@(remove this)googlemail.com

Nominations for committee should also be with Dave seven days before the meeting in accordance with the rules. This is to enable ballot paperwork to be completed prior to the AGM. Four members of the current committee will be standing for re-election at the meeting as required by the rules.

Football Tournament

Supporters Club Football Tournament 2007/08

I am pleased to confirm that the Supporters Club Football Tournament will be held on the afternoon of Sunday 18th May 2008.


Each Supporters Club can submit one team with strictly 7 players and 1 manager (we regret that this number cannot be increased under any circumstances).

We are limited to time on the pitch, if we are oversubscribed a ballot will be held.

Jill will also be holding a supporters club meeting before the Football Tournament, please e-mail the name of the representative from your club who will attend the meeting and any items you would like to be included on the agenda.

Please confirm whether you wish to enter a team by Friday 28th March to kgreen@arsenal.co.uk.

All Clubs will be notified by Monday 31st March 2008.

Ticket allocation: Form 4

A new ticket application form can be downloaded via the members section. The 4th ticket application form covers potential forthcoming european cup matches and the league matches against Liverpool, Reading and Everton. (Please see ticket allocation page).

Forms can be emailed or posted to Danny Cross or David Hicks, or further in person at the club’s next meeting .
